CARE & HANDLING OF YOUR CHATMAN J SWEET POTATO CHEESECAKE
Your Sweet Potato Cheese Cake is frozen. Remove it from the packing material, cover it lightly with plastic wrap or waxed paper, and defrost it in your refrigerator overnight. It is best served chilled. Just before serving, for a decorative touch and if you like the taste of orange with sweet potato, add mandarin oranges. You may want to glaze your oranges. Jean’s recipe for glaze is included. Left overs of the plain pie will last in your refrigerator for a week. If you add mandarins, we recommend eating within one or two days.
Only plain cheese cakes can be frozen for later use. When it arrives remove the packing material and immediately place it in the freezer. We recommend double wrapping it in tin foil or plastic wrap or in a large freezer bag to preserve the flavor. BACK TO TOP
JEAN'S SIMPLE APRICOT GLAZE
Ingredients
½ cup apricot jam or preserves
1 tbs water or liquid from the Mandarin Oranges
Instructions:
Heat the jam and water in a small saucepan over medium heat until the jam is melted. Remove from heat and strain through a fine strainer to remove any lumps. Let cool until it is only slightly warm and then glaze the mandarin oranges using a pastry brush. Only lightly coat the oranges so the glaze does not look jelly-like when dry. BACK TO TOP
